What I actually loved most about this story was the innovative idea the company was working on! It interested me greatly and I think it would have great potential so I was instantly drawn into the story. There was a lot going on that caused conflict not only between the characters, but between employees and affecting morals. Kathleen did a great job of focusing on how corrupt morals can become in professional settings where money is concerned and business is at the heart of the decisions rather than the consumer.

I really enjoyed the pace of the book. It was fast moving in terms of the relationship between Sheila and Tony and they had quite the rocky ride alongside the moral dilemmas. It was so interesting to see the choices the characters were making and their motives because they all had a different reason and angle for their behaviour. There were so many moments where I worried about how this was all going to play out and I just hoped Sheila and Tony would work out any differences so that they could focus on their relationship and finding happiness with one another.

An interesting addition to Kathleen’s unique catalogue of books and I look forward to reading more in future, hopefully with Tony and Sheila making an appearance too!

...This book is intelligent and even if you thought you didn't understand science, you will (to a degree) by the descriptions. Tony begins working at a company that is headed by one of the most famous women, Erica. Erica is looking for investors to help with the company and one of those investors is Sheila. It is by chance that Tony meets Sheila. Sheila wants to know more about the company, but Tony is bound by a NDA and cannot tell her the specifics that Sheila really wants to know. Sheila gives Tony her number and they begin meeting. What once was an innocent meeting, is no longer as the feelings between the women grow. What is also growing, is Tony's suspicion that her boss, Erica, is not being truthful to her investors and employees about what the company is supposed to be doing.

Riding on a high of joining a new start up -GHS, Tony also met and started a relationship with Sheila, the junior partner of the venture capital investment firm invested in her new company. Her life was seemingly on the up but unbeknownst to her, she was soon to be embroiled in a web of deceit running head on into the storm.

GHS, the new biotech company not only promised groundbreaking medical technology in blood works - the ability to perform a variety of tests with two simple drops of blood, they also had the most charming, assertive and attractive CEO, Eric Sanders at the helm.

When red flags started to appear, Tony’s dream job and relationship was cast into disarray and Tony found herself navigating troubled waters with everything at stake.

The author has done some serious groundwork in sharing with readers the world of start ups, the role of venture capital investments firms, the gist behind such firms and the roles played by all the key personnel.

This book walked readers through technicalities of the medical and technological aspects of the world of biotech and is a refreshing approach from many of the common genres incorporated into LGBTQ stories and I enjoyed the unconventional aspect of it.

Scientist Tony Leung just landed her dream job working at company called Global HemoSolutions run by CEO Erica Sanders who wants invent a device where you can test a drop of blood or anything without having to use needles.

Shelia is a venture capitalist who works with her father Roy who wants to invest into Global HemoSolutions because he thinks they will succeed in what their doing.

Tony and Shelia cross paths while Shelia is visiting the company and bump into each other again where Shelia gives Tony her number. Tony and Shelia both haven’t had time for dating since they are focus on their career but something about each other they can’t seem to shake and they start seeing each other but when something happens will their love survive.

This was a good read I like how the author research how testing is done and the steps it takes that you have to be on point if not you cause a lot of damage especially when someone life is at stake.
